- Error: Structural fallacy
-
Analyze:
If
A, then B.
Not
A,
-------------------
Therefore,
not B
If
you wear clothes of Valentino, you will look noble, sophisticated and
attractive.
You
do not wear them
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Therefore,
you do not look noble, sophisticated and attractive.
In
fact, you may still look noble, sophisticated and attractive, probably not like
this.
- Invalid - inductively weak (there is no data to display)
ITEM 2:
Source: http://funnie.st/306610/difference-men-women/8/
- Error: Content fallacy: hasty generalization
-
Analyze:
The
author can see many cases of girl friendship lasted only 2 or 3 years while guy
friendship is lasting. However, it is not true for all cases. In fact, there
are still the long-lasting friendships of girls and the ephemeral friendships
of boys.
- Invalid - inductively weak (there is no data to display)
ITEM 3:
- Error: Content fallacy: hasty generalization and and post-hoc fallacy
- Analyze:
The
author can see good or excellent students have less Internet access hours while
bad students have more Internet access hours. However, there is not sufficient
evidence to actually warrant such a claim "the more students access the
Internet, the more worse academic achievement they have". In fact, it may
be a necessary condition but it is not a sufficient condition.
- Invalid - inductively strong (based on the statistics)
